In the economy as a whole, the wage gap (median) between women and men is gradually narrowing. In 2020, it amounted to 10.8%, compared to 11.5% in 2018 and 12.0% in 2016.
BPW Switzerland has been using the median wage in the private sector since the launch of Equal Pay Day. For this figure, the development is as follows: 2016: 14.6%; 2018: 14.4%; 2020: 13.8%.
