The CSW is a functional commission of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) and is one of the main bodies within the United Nations. The International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW International) has had consultative status with ECOSOC, and thus with the Commission on the Status of Women, since 1947.
In addition to the official conference, a series of parallel events, coordinated by the NGO CSW, will be taking place, a large number of which can be attended online.
